This collection of Santorini Honeymoon photos showcase the stunning beauty of this small Greek island on the Aegean Sea.
Santorini is one of the most popular honeymoon locations in the world, and specifically, the small village of Oia. Oia lies on the northwest part of the island and features stunning whitewashed homes, with splashes of color, carved deep into the cliffside. The village overlooks the gorgeous blue waters of the caldera and makes it an ideal spot to take in sunset. Oia is truly a photographers dream.
My most awesome couple, Mai & Houa, had been guests at a couple different weddings I shot over the years, both in Minnesota and Hawaii. When they contacted me about joining them to shoot a Santorini honeymoon photo session, I couldn’t have been more excited. I’d been wanting to visit this iconic location for years. Mai & Houa had a small traditional Hmong wedding ceremony at their family home in Saint Paul, Minnesota. I loved their idea of having a simple wedding ceremony with their family, followed by an adventure of a lifetime.
We started our photo session bright and early to catch sunrise. We spent a couple hours exploring all the nooks and crannies of Oia. Some of our favorite spots, as shown below, were the Three Blue Domes, the views from Oia Castle, all the unique stairs & pathways, and the fun color pop of the Kastro Oia Houses.

This destination wedding at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico was a dream to shoot. It wasn’t just the beautifully epic location, but even more so my awesome, down-to-earth, and super fun couple.
Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach resort is tucked into the mountains at the southernmost point of the Baja Peninsula. It is a luxurious, all-inclusive, private resort in the Paraiso Escondido area. When it comes to wedding photography, few other places offer such a fantastically diverse backdrop. A Sunset Beach wedding gives you the vast Pacific Ocean, private sandy beaches, rolling sets of waves, rock cliffs, hills, and mountains. If that’s not enough, you’ll be surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, brilliant flowers, towering palm trees, brick roads, amazing color, and beautiful architecture both old and new. The only problem we faced was not having enough time to take photos in all of the endless little nooks & crannies.
Below you’ll find:

An important thing to note is that this is a HUGE gated resort away from the hustle & bustle of the main drag of Cabo. It makes for a very peaceful environment to share with your nearest & dearest on your wedding day. A massive bonus too, is that just east of Sunset Beach, is one of the coolest beaches ever in Land’s End.
If you are considering this gorgeous Cabo San Lucas resort as a Mexico destination wedding location, check out your choices of different Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Wedding Packages. Packages include almost everything you’ll need for your wedding. They also offer a really nice variety of different ceremony locations. You can choose from right on the beach, Swan Terrace, up high at the Sky Pool, or like this wedding on the soft grass of Lover’s Meadow. They also offer one of the only resort Chapels in all of Cabo San Lucas. Custom wedding packages are available as well.
The staff at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach is great but I’d also highly recommend Cabo wedding planner Bonnie Chase of Events by Bliss. Bonnie will take care of everything, making it a breeze while planning from afar.

Fall weddings in northern Minnesota are so very nice. These Hungry Jack Lodge wedding photos are full of love & laughter, and bathed in absolutely beautiful scenery. Jean & Sam are some of the coolest people I’ve had the honor to share the day with. Their love for each other, the scenery, the way they wore their hearts on their sleeves, and their awesome souls, made this a perfect Northwoods wedding day.
Sam is a true jack-of-all-trades designing and hand making some rock solid wedding decor, an awesome topographical nature & wildlife figure seating chart, hatchets, arrows, the wedding band, and even his own suit. Jean also contributed many touches and has the most awesomely genuine smile and energy. They honored their ancestors and the sacred lands with native touches and a sweet Anishinaabe marriage blessing. Along with their friends & families, Jean & Sam made the most of their Gunflint Trail wedding on HungryJack Lake, and I was truly honored to be a part of it.
The first section below showcases my personal favorite images from the day, followed by some great venue information, and then the full set of images for those who want to see more.
Hungry Jack Lodge Information:
If you want a Northwoods wedding, Hungry Jack Lodge, 32 miles north of Grand Marais is such a perfect spot. Not only do they have epic views over Hungry Jack Lake but they have more facilities and accommodations than almost anywhere else along the Gunflint Trail. A big bonus is that the staff was super cool to my couple, and also really great to work with.
Hungry Jack Lodge Resort & Campground is found at the halfway point of the Gunflint Trail, right next to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA). It’s the only resort on Hungry Jack Lake and surrounded by the six million acre Superior National Forest. The resort lies just 2 miles south of the Canadian Border. It’s the perfect balance of convenience & amenities along with the peaceful calm of the Northwoods lakeside. You can actually access the BWCA right from Hungry Jack Lake. With only one small portage, it makes it a perfect place for fun day trips into the BWCA. I can’t recommend this place enough for not only your wedding but for a vacation visit as well. See below for a list of offerings and amenities.
What Hungry Jack Lodge Provides:

These Napa Valley engagement photos at Artesa Winery were a lot of fun to shoot. Artesa sits on some really beautiful grounds and was designed by some clearly talented folks but it was my super cool couple who made it extra awesome. We started shooting near Artesa’s super unique, bunker like main building. We explored the grounds further, utilizing the different art installations and pools for some one-of-a-kind photos. After finishing up near the main wine tasting area we got permission to explore the grape vineyards up close. Fall provided us with some great colors amongst the rows of grapes. The laid-back nature and love between my couple shined even more vibrantly. We finished up our engagement session exploring deeper into Napa Valley. As a result we found winding roads, rows of olive trees, longs grasses, and rolling hills with beautiful vistas.
Liz and Nicco celebrated their big day in style with an elegant black tie wedding in San Francisco, at the Mark Hopkins Intercontinental Hotel, a historic wedding venue. The bride and groom exchanged vows in front of 150 friends and family before moving onto the wedding reception to celebrate their new marriage and dance the night away!
First Date at the Rooftop Bar in the Mark Hopkins Hotel
After hitting it off at Nicco’s annual ugly Christmas sweater party, Liz and Nicco spent their first official date at a romantic rooftop bar overlooking the San Francisco skyline. That rooftop bar, the Top of the Mark, also happens to sit on the 19th floor of the Mark Hopkins Intercontinental Hotel, where all this wedding goodness would take place three years later!
Getting Ready With the Fun Bridesmaids and Groomsmen
The bride and her bridesmaids spent the morning in a penthouse suite at the Mark Hopkins overlooking downtown San Francisco and the SF Bay. The hair stylists and makeup artists from Bay Area Beautiful helped the ladies prepare for the big day, styling their makeup and hair to accentuate their natural beauty. Liz and her gorgeous bridesmaids looked amazing together with their navy blue bridesmaid dresses against the stunning Maggie Sottero beaded gown. Nicco got ready with his groomsmen and family and enjoyed the excitement of the day with some celebratory drinks. He looked sharp and ready with his group of black tie groomsmen!
Elegant Wedding Ceremony in the Grand Mark Hotel Ballroom
A unique and artistic ceremony space, the Room of the Dons ballroom is characterized by the hotels historic architectural details in top notch chandeliers and high ceilings. The Flower House designed tall floral arrangements and lined the aisle with rose petals adding to the luxurious ceremony design. The Mersonacta String Quartet accentuated the elegant atmosphere with heavenly ceremony music.
When Liz walked down the aisle with her father, Nicco’s face lit up. Father Charles Regal of the White Robed Monks personalized the ceremony and kept the tone lighthearted and sentimental. The wedding guests were filled with excitement as Liz and Nicco kissed as husband and wife for the first time and happily made their way back down the aisle.
Mark Hopkins Hotel: A Luxury Wedding Venue in San Francisco
The Mark Hopkins Intercontinental Hotel wedding venue is known as one of the best luxury venues for a wedding in San Francisco. The hotel hosts classy wedding ceremonies and receptions in lavish ballrooms in a perfect downtown SF location. The hotels wedding coordination team did an awesome job keeping the wedding day moving along smoothly. Dakota of Thomas Hughes Films filmed the day and was a pleasure to work beside. I first fell in love with this city, years ago, when I photographed a San Francisco engagement session on Baker Beach with the iconic Golden Gate Bridge in the background. The more time I spent here, the deeper in love I fell. The downtown SF area near the hotel made stepping outside for portraits of the bride and groom, and their bridal party, so much fun and gave us perfect iconic San Fran backdrops in every direction.
The wonderful Jutta and her team from A Day Like No Other wedding planners worked with the wedding coordination team at the Mark Hopkins Hotel and did a fantastic job setting up the Peacock Court and Ballroom. The uplighting design by Impact Lighting set the reception’s mood with soft, golden light.
After the bridal party entered the reception, Liz and Nicco shared a romantic first dance. Once the guests had enjoyed the delicious wedding meals and cut the cake, the real party started! The newly weds were finally able to celebrate fully with their family and friends as they danced the night away to the awesome upbeat music provided by Hip Service.
After the wedding, the happy couple enjoyed the beginning of their newlywed life honeymooning in Italy!
Sapodilla Bay in Turks & Caicos is such an amazing location for a wedding. Emily & Matt and I’s adventures started with an awesome summer engagement session in Minneapolis, which we both call home. The following spring we all made the trek down to the absolutely gorgeous island of Turks & Caicos for one of my favorite weddings of all time. As these wedding photos below will show, they did it right with their nearest and dearest of family and friends.
