Today I volunteered my time at the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital. My friend Ryan Thorman, former U of M Football Player, recently created a new 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization called Gridiron Giving. It all started a few weeks ago with a personal Facebook post saying he’d match donations to give sick or needy kids toys for Christmas. Ryan raised over $2,000 in no time, and the idea snowballed into something much bigger.
Ryan, along with his non-profit business partner Rod Ganther, and their U of M football buddies, delivered a bunch of brand new toys and portable DVD players to the recovering kids. It was great to see the looks on the kids and parents faces. I’m excited to watch this new charity grow each and every year. Way to go Ryan!
