There’s something magical about winter engagement photos in Minnesota, soft snow, peaceful light, and the cozy energy between two people in love. These Hopkins engagement photos were captured around a charming neighborhood pond in the Knollwood area, complete with a little red wooden footbridge, a small island, and plenty of laughter (and paw prints!) along the way.

My couple brought their dog to join in the fun, and we spent the afternoon exploring the snowy paths, making playful portraits, and enjoying the quiet beauty of this hidden gem right in Hopkins, Minnesota.

A Hidden Gem in Hopkins

Hopkins, a cozy suburb just west of Minneapolis, offers several lesser-known engagement photo locations that feel peaceful and personal, perfect for couples wanting something off the beaten path.

This particular spot, the Knollwood neighborhood pond, was extra special because my bride-to-be grew up nearby, fittingly on Bridal Lane! If it weren’t for her suggestion, I might have never discovered this sweet, tucked-away area. Because it’s so low-traffic, we practically had the place to ourselves, making it perfect for relaxed and natural portraits.

I always love when couples embrace the season and get outside for winter engagement photos. There’s something timeless and romantic about the mix of fresh snow, warm coats, and genuine laughter. Whether you choose a city backdrop or a quiet local park like this one, winter brings a softness that can’t be replicated any other time of year.
