I had been trying to catch a Mike Love show for quite some time when finally the stars aligned on September 10, 2014. I had recently booked two engagement sessions out in San Francisco the same week as Mike was playing Slim’s. The show had Mike opening up for another favorite of mine, Trevor Hall, who was out supporting his amazing album Chapter of the Forest.

Back to Mike Love. Words cannot adequately describe how incredibly talented + kind + genuine + inspiring and awesome this man and his musical prowess is. He’s my favorite musician for sure. I’m lucky to call him a good friend these days and this show actually opened up those doors. He recently released an amazing album, “Love Will Find a Way” that is epic from end to end. The world could use a whole lot more of Mike these days. He’s most famous (7 million views) for his great tune “Permanent Vacation” and his groundbreaking syllable looping halfway thru the song. To say he is widely progressive and adept is a gross understatement.

The pinnacle of this awesome evening was when Mike came out with Trevor during his encore and sang Trevor’s “Haleakala” right smack dab in the middle of the crowd. It was a giant and awesome singalong circle of love.
