This collection of Santorini honeymoon photos showcase the stunning beauty of this small Greek Island on the Aegean Sea.
We started our Santorini honeymoon photo session bright and early so we could catch sunrise. We spent hours exploring all the awesome nooks & crannies of Oia. Some of our favorite spots, as shown in the collection of images below, were the Three Blue Domes, the views from Oia Castle, all the unique stairs & pathways, and the fun color pop at the Kastro Oia Houses.
The Honeymooners:
My most awesome newlyweds, Mai & Houa, had been guests at some weddings I shot over the years, both in Minnesota and Hawaii. When they contacted me about joining them to shoot their Santorini honeymoon photos, I could not have been more excited. I had been wanting to visit this iconic location for years. Mai & Houa had a small traditional Hmong wedding ceremony at their family home in Saint Paul, Minnesota. I loved their idea of having a simple wedding ceremony with their family, followed by an adventure of a lifetime.
Location Background:
Santorini is one of the most popular honeymoon locations in the world, and specifically, the small village of Oia. Oia lies on the northwest part of the island and features stunning whitewashed homes, with splashes of color, carved deep into the cliffside. The village overlooks the gorgeous blue waters of the caldera and makes it an ideal spot to take in sunset. Shooting honeymoon photos in Santorini is truly a photographers dream.
